Hi, my name is Kirk Schield. I’ve been the full time pastor here at Christ Lutheran Church since 2023.
I grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where I was a machinist before going to Seminary at age 40. I am the father of 4 grown children. My first wife went to heaven in 2014. I worked as a machinist again after she died and began serving here part time in 2017. I met Jill Lekatz, who is also widowed in 2020. We understood that time can be short so we were married on October 3, 2021.
I really enjoy spending time with my wife, my children and grandchildren. I also like auto repair, and Waverunner riding and repair.
But most of all, I enjoy serving the people here at Christ Lutheran and telling people about God’s love for them in Jesus!
Hi, my name is Roni Hauser, I have been the church secretary at Christ Lutheran since about 2004.
I was born in St. Paul lived there until I was about 9, my family moved to Newport Beach CA where I lived until I was about 19, when I returned to Minnesota. Met my husband Don on a blind date, we were married in 1995, and lived in Blaine, MN. We have one child, Stephen. We moved to Canandaigua, NY in 1999 for Don’s job. While we were there that is when I my first taste at working as a church secretary for
our church in Canandaigua. In 2003 we left NY and moved to Superior, where about a year later I became our church secretary.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and my son and his wife doing whatever. I am a veracious
reader, very rarely am I without a book, I enjoy photography, crocheting, and pretty much any crafty thing. I love living by large bodies of water, whether it be the ocean, a giant lake, or a regular lake, so I really enjoy living here in Superior, even after 22 years here the view of the lake coming down the hill still makes think, “wow I love it here”.
It has been a great 20+ years working here and I love my job and all the people that I serve here at Christ Lutheran, they are truly a blessing.
